Is there such thing as time without change?
The past is a name for the conditions that exist prior to the changes brought about by a new present.
Conditions of a more immediate past bleed into the present, they exist around us in the half-drunk cup and pile of dirty laundry. Conditions of a distant past, though they create the circumstance of the present, may no longer visually manifest, and exist primarily in
memory
and
history,
in what we consider familiar, normal, and true.
