Time is not
the fourth dimension,
though this is a common misconception.
Time is the medium through which change occurs.
Though our measurements of time are
simple
and linear,
the true nature of this force feels twisting.
Years race by but days drag. Sometimes an hour feels like a minute.
The experience of time is subjective, perceived differently by each of us.
And this subjectivity is only magnified by the fallibility of
memory.
Living in an eternal
present,
the
past
is a story we tell ourselves, and the
future
is a blank canvas for projections.
Like the seasons, days and weeks move forward not as a straight line,
but as one that curves around and around as a
spiral.
